| There's a guy on eBay selling good looking black MDF desks, but I dunno...he can't supply any close up shots and while it looks good it might only last a short while. My biggest concern is that it's painted MDF and it might be rough feeling / looking stuff...?! The monitor shelf width on the Presto seems a bit shy...the outer corners of my HR824's are about 72" and that shelf is like 55". The Nova is even shorter and the height is like 32" which may be a little low for monitoring (I think mine are set at 42" on the stands and I dig it). However it's only my personal tastes and might work well for you? War

| I don't like either for one very key reason: the monitors (computer monitors) are too high and your neck will be hurting. I have worked at stations like those and it is the WORST. Computer monitors should be at eye level or just slightly below. Both those designs put it up. It will get very fatiguing. I loved the design of the Force 36, so I took the picture to a carpenter friend of mine and he built that exact desk for me, for half the price of the Omnirax, with better wood. Plus I got to customize it (got extra rack space, etc...) I really like supporting local people so this was the way to go for me. If you have any carpenter friends who are into building furniture, show them a picture of your dream desk and ask them about building it. And, darn it, make sure the monitors don't end up too high like some of those Omniraxes!! |

| Custom is the way to go if you can do it or have a friend that is a carpenter. It's a little more money, but you get exactly what you want, and it fits in the room the way you want. I'll post some pics of my custom consoles if you want some ideas. |

| First time posting pix, hope I get it right. The big advantage of the audio studio console is that we made it fit the angle of the far wall, and the rack space on top. I can keep a close eye on the mic pres and comp meters. |

| Gear addict | Make your own. Take your time, measure twice, and you'll get exactly what you want for less money (plus you'll feel great about having done it yourself). It's easier than you think. www.resoundproductions.com Mine isn't finished yet (It's just the bare wood still, with no armrest yet and no finishing), but It's exactly what I wanted and it cost me less than $150. I finished the cutting and assembly in an afternoon, and all that's left is finishing. The only tools I used were a Jigsaw and powerdrill (Home depot will do rough cuts for you).

| Video console - the suite is a mess so this is an ugly pic, but you can see the rack space that we put under the monitor portion - 2 bays - each about 5 spaces high (no rails installed yet) |
