Reality Check

I don't know if there is a thread like this - but I think it's good to be humble

Here are my 3 reality checks

1. A guy I know has a Pro Tools NuBus system and is making over $20,000 a month doing radio spots.

2. Another friend just played a crappy guitar into a crate amp and recorded it onto a four track and it was choosen as the theme for a TV show

3. My ITB mixes are making my clients really happy and I am reaching for outboard less and less.

wow, that got heavy really fast. So sorry to hear about the health problems. I am glad your daughter is doing better. I meant to list success stories not related to large gear purchases.

You mean the license right? With a ring, mine cost more But it was the best money ever spent.

Was that a vintage ring or a re-issue? I've heard good things about the vintage ones. (grin)

It was a custom new ring. I helped design it and picked out the op-amp, ooops I mean the rock, and the point to point wiring, I mean the setting

But seriously - reality checks on making a living in this business sometimes with no more than a guitar or your voice and a vision.
