I have worked with them live a few times in the last few years. They seem bored and lifeless. Would like to see them return to their original Texas rockin Blues style ala Tres Hombres. Hope that Rick can breathe life into them, they were an important trendsetter in american style music back in the day. Just remember Waitin For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago and you will be reminded of that importance!

I saw them on a concert on tv last year and to be honest that performance reminded me of a mediocre bar band. I got the feeling they were just going through the motions.

ZZ Top Club Act

Last year I got to see ZZ Top play for a private party of about 500 people. No monster light show. No fancy staging. Just a raw 3-piece blues band rocking it out for a private party. The 1.5 hour set list contained almost every hit song ZZ has ever had, played live as human musicians would. THEY KICKED ASS!

I'd love to hear a newly recorded classic ZZ Top rock'n blues album but they gotta lose those CRATE amplifiers. Do they really "need" to endorse amps? Billy could definitely "git er done" even with an Epiphone Blues Junior amp.

I've seen the band live in concert many times since they first broke into mainstream touring years ago. This intimate club style gig was the treat of a lifetime for a fan of this music.
