Learn to Mix Like a Multi-Platinum Pro | Multi-Platinum Production

Does anyone have any experience with the above mentioned DVD's?

I'd like to hear some feedback.

Thanks.

What the Hell is "Multi Platinum Pro"

As I wrote in another thread the TERM Pro is washed out in the World of Audio editing mixing etc..... If Pro Sounds not good enough it has to be MULTI PLATINUM.... would be reason for me not to buy it.

Never seen one myself, but (i think) the guy in them is a regular poster around these parts and is a good dude with a ton of knowledge.

Brady, Nathan and John all taught at MTSU when I was there. I took the DAW class that Brady taught. The Pro Tools book was required for the class. However, he went over everything in the book in class in such detail that I didn't need to use the book or the video. I do still have it on my shelf for reference and it is top quality. I liked the class so much that I was the lab assistant my last semester there.

I can't speak to the new videos about Mastering and such, but they should be just as good as the Pro Tools book and video, if not better. I may need to pick those up to add to my library.

I never took a class with John Merchant, but from what I heard he was really cool and definitely knew his stuff. You could hear Beegees tracks that he produced playing while walking down the hall. I think he taught a song production class (focused heavily on mixing), and he was playing those as demo mixes? Not sure.

Anyways, the MPP stuff is very high quality.

Judging by the sample videos I've watched, they are damn good self-teaching tools I think. 75 bucks for mixing DVD is not so much for even a few tips that one could grab from them, no matter how experienced one might be.

The guy made me grin when he started inserting the trim plugin as the first insert in every track in the mixer. Ehe he. You can tell he's a survivor from the days of analog. He wants to see it up there, even though he may not be using it Beauty.

Sometimes seeing things in a compact way like that is pretty useful for maintaining one's work discipline. I might buy it. I like watching that kind of educational material, you never know what you can come across.

I have their Track Editing and Vocal Editing videos, highly recommend them. I've learned a ton from them...although i haven't seen the other ones, i'm sure they are just as good.

I know them all personally. Great people both in person and in profession. The mixing DVD really made me think about mixing ITB in a new way. I like the DVDs because no matter what your experience level is there is something you can take from it.

The multi platinum pro tools stuff is incredible. I am friends with Nathan, I have a mixing room at his studio. I have three of the DVD's. Mixing, track editing, and vocal editing. They are all good. The mixing is by far my favorite. John Merchant is a great engineer and has some fantastic tips. They are worth checking out. If you have some extra money and are looking for some great tips I would look into getting these.

Thanks for the replies. I've downloaded the demos, and it seems very informative and sensible.

Can anyone else chime in on this before I place an order?
