Shure in-line pad

I've just bought an API 3124 and I want to pad the output so I can run it into the red without clipping my convertors.

I've been looking at the Shure A15AS which is switchable between 15/20/25 dB attenuation which seems perfect.

BUT...

It says the input impedance is 1000 ohms and the output is 150 ohms.

IS THIS OK TO CONNECT FROM THE LINE LEVEL OUTPUT OF THE PRE TO THE LINE LEVEL INPUT OF THE CONVERTERS?

Dan do you find that this unit seems to be very hot both on the input and output side? I have just picked up, some pads from studiospares, yet to try them though

I am receiving the unit in a couple of days I'm just trying to be efficient so I can test it properly.

I was looking at those very pads so I'd love to hear how you get on with them.

I can't recall the specs. at the moment, but Whirlwind and Audio Technica both make a inline pad that I have used for this application. Both worked fine..

I used to use the A-Designs ATTY with my 3124... worked great.

Did you ever find it annoying not being able to control each signal separately?

I also prefer the idea of the Shure pads because they're properly calibrated and you don't need a lead to connect them - can just go straight into the pre amp.
