looking for the perfect mic

i currently have a Behringer B-1 that i bought for my studio 4 years ago when i first started off..i want to get a professional great quality mic for around $300-350. i've asked around in guitar center and they recommended the Heil Pro PR40, the Sure Sm7b or an AKG C-2000..but i'm not sure what to get..i made this same mistake before on recent equiptment and i never want to do it again..so please if you know what your talking about please help me out, thanks

some of the mics you can get for that money is the audio technica at4040 for $300 or better yet, an at 4033 for $400..i've always been impressed with what audio technica delivers for the money they charge.don't let the price fool you..they are great quality professional mics and well built..i've used them both. the thing to keep in mind is any mic is only as good as the singer..

If you can go a little higher (around $590 or so) I'd highly recommend
the KSM 44... I think it's one of the absolute best values around.
