V72..once again!

I bought a separate phantompower box from Proel. Then I used my voltmeter on the output (the part who goes into my V72), I could read 36 volt. Is this usual, or will this damage my transformator in the mic pre??? The power also was there after I have connected the mic.
Someone who know about racks to put v72`s into?

You should have had +48vdc at the front of your V-72 not +36vdc. I don't know the "phantom" box you're talking about, but usually phantom power is applied at the lines that go to pins 2 and 3 [with the 0 volt reference to Pin 1] directly from the back of the V-72 [via an external power supply]. It is best for the transformer if this power ramps up gradually [like over the course of a second], but not mandatory.

The transformer will block the DC voltage of the phantom power from effecting the pre-amp... so as long as the phantom is wired right, you're OK.

Peace.
