| Gear maniac | Changing the slew rating of a waveform
I'm curious as to what plug-ins would allow me to ...lower? (less square wavey) the slew rating of a waveform.. so far all i can think of is amp modelers.. but i dont neccesarily want the modeling.. i just want the slew rating changed... Any ideas? Thanks. Arit. |

Are you looking to modify transients or continuous waveforms? It sounds like the latter. I've never used it, but the SPL Transient Designer is kind of sort of in the ballpark, but more for transients, obviously. It sounds like you're hoping to achieve some form of resynthesis. Perhaps synthesis toolboxes like Native Instruments' Reaktor, Arturia's Storm (or, if your flush with cash, Kyma) might have a module to accomplish something like this. I'd do a little research on these tools and maybe contact these vendors to see if any of them has a module to accomplish what you're looking for. Synth80s |

limiting slew rate is nonlinear. you will get distortion, if this is, what you like. sounds like a very distant FM station... kind of hissing... a delta-modulator can do this very well. or is ist about anti-aliasing rectangle waveforms? then you better mimick a passive RC lowpass for a beautiful sound. (6 or 12 dB/oct, or both, with a knee in between)
