Hi I need some help here Anyone ever used one of these compressors http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MEWA:IT I have asked the company how long ago they made this and it was in the early 1980's. Its a Solid State unit, and it just looked interesting to me. Nothing about it on the web at all I just wondered if anyone here had ever used one. Paul |

Resurrecting an old thread here... I would also be interested in any opinions/experiences on this one. I just picked one up myself (at what seemed like a very good price) in pretty much mint condition, but am unable to try it out right now. Like Paul said, there's hardly any info on it at all but I have seen the unit in other peoples racks, so I guess SOMEONE is bound to know something |

I have their DA 145 Pico field mixer from -85 modified to have direct outs and it is just as nice as it was at the day for location mixing for film/TV. Now more like a partial front end for DAW -bad and outdated pic Matti |

Nice! I've seen a couple of their old models which has had built in compressors as well.. been lustin' for one ever since. I actually had a couple of minutes left today, and gave it a try. The thing has no make-up gain so my quick comparisons where a bit so-so.. But still! I seemed to be able to compress for ages without any major artifacts. Seems to handle 2-bus operations extremely well - as far as leveling goes, but perhaps not ideal for the drum-bus. I think this would be an absolute killer for vocals though... and guitars too! Anyway, here's an embarrassingly bad shot of mine (top unit): |

Maybe contact Roger Tromans at Audio Developments to get copies of the papers for the unit. He was very helpful when I was overhauling and making the direct outs to mine Matti |

Yeah, I've been in touch with Tom Cryan at AD, and he said he'd try to locate a copy for me, after the holidays. Great service!
