UPS Power backup question

What do you guys use for power back up during power outages? Evidently the area I now live in is prone to outages (2 in the last couple days), so I need to get something that can keep my rig running for a couple minutes while I shut down. As I've researched the APC units, I realize that I have no idea how much juice I need it to support.

So, here's a little list... perhaps one of you smarter guys than me can help me find the right product.

G4 Dual 1.25 (HD3 Accel installed)
4 external firewire drives
2 17" LCD monitors
Genelec 1031 (pair)
Alesis Monitor Ones amped by QSC USA 370
Mackie Universal Control
Furman PL-Plus power conditioner
Emagic AMT-8 midi interface
Roland JV-90 controller
Roland JV-1080
Drawmer 1960
StudioComm Model 50/51
Digidesign 96 i/o
Lucid Genx6
Nakamichi consumer CD player

I'm guessing the big power drains are the speakers and the computer... but I just don't really know how much.

And as always, I'm sure bigger is better, but my budget is not.

Thank you O Wise Ones.

APC Rackmount UPS with a true sine wave output.

Check out their web site and calculate your power consumption needs to figure out which unit is best for you.

Well, here's where I show my true colors... uh... how do I do that?

Watts vs Amps, Joules blah blah blah... I'm clueless.

Thanks...

Look behind each piece of equipment where you plug in the IEC cord.. and it should tell you how many Watts (how much power) it draws.

Power = Volts x Amps

I use a Tripp Lite 1400 unit.

I only run the computer, ADs, DAs, and hard drives off it.....anything that will hang the system if it loses power.

I think my sampler is on it too.

Power amps, speakers, the analog stuff plugs straight into the wall.

It gives me about 10 minutes of juice.

AAsa,
Hmmm... that makes sense. I suppose I could use my Furman conditioner to avoid spikes to the analog stuff and put the computer on the UPC. That sounds like a plan.

Thanks.

I just added an MGE Pulsar EX15. It handles 1,050 watts max output. The battery is small. I think its something like 8 minutes at max output. But that's plenty of time. Its a true sine wave double conversion unit (the Smart APC is not). The cool thing is its lite enough for live sound and, man, it has made a nice difference in sound. I run a pretty clean system, but can tell the difference in noise floor and the lack of fuzz, buzz or his in the system. About $650.00, and well worth it.

APC Smart UPS 1500 here for the DAW as well as phone system and interent. Recently ran everything for over an hour with the power out (dunno how long it would work - the power came back on at about 70 minutes and there was a bunch of battery power left...)
