Just got Focusrite Liquid

I just got the focusrite liquid channel. It is pretty cool. I did a comparison with my distressor to there patch that imitates it. It is pretty close. The question I have is the kick I sent throught the distresssor into Protools sounds almost wider or more spatial even though it is a mono recording. The focusrite seems more up the middle and not a swide. How can this bee if it is a mono track being recorded?
Thanks

ummm....I hear you have to pick it up and shake it cuz the liquid settles in the center.

really, here's a guess. If it's a real kick recorded in a real room, no matter how dead the room is, is it possible the EL8's actually compressing a little more and bringing the room "in" thus a bit of ambience?

Hi
i figured it out. the kick is from a trinity. It ended up being a wire problem. I had a wire where the xlr was +3 pin hot which I used to use for my summit dcl200 which is Pin 3 hot. This was coming out of the liquid into my converter. this is why they sounded different. once I put the right cable in. I was able to do a good comparison. The Liquid channel is awesome. It is pretty dam close to the original especially the distressor. Sure you can't get some of the extra features like the dist 2 &3 but if you use it regulary it sound almost the same.
thanks
