Fireface800 digimax fs question I am unable to get ch 5-8 on the digimax (17-20 in FF mixer) to lock / sync. I tested both toslink cables, and am able to get all eight channels to sync through one cable at lower rates, and ch 1-4 to sync @ 88.2 / 96). What am I doing wrong? thanks!

What is the configuration in the Fireface Settings dialog? Specifically do you have SPDIF In set to Coaxial and not ADAT2? From the manual it appears that having SPDIF In set to Adat2 makes the SMUX only operate on ADAT inputs 1-4.

spdif has been set to coax, with no luck. I think that it might be a wordclock issue, as there is noise coming through the FF mixer on ch 17 (what should be digimax ch 5) which sounds like a wordclock signal. I've tried using both adat 1 and 2 in with the digimax as master and i've tried using bnc cable for wordclock with each being a master and nothing works. I haven't yet tried using the FF as master via adat out, but i don't know if it's even worth a shot. Any suggestions? thanks a ton

I just bought a digimax fs and I'm running it through a multiface. I believe you can only get four channels running anything higher than 48 through the adats. But maybe that is just the multiface. I will look into it. You have to run two multifaces to get 8 channels through adat at 96k.

Right; at higher sample rates (88.2 +) you have to use 2 parallel adat cables. The FireFace has two adat ins, but i can't get the second one to sync (ch5-8).
