The Fat Man in the Red Suit gave me...

A really cool radio. The Tivoli radio, sound is unreal. For the size and power consumption, this thing is the best.

Picture here.

We used to have a big old boom box in the kitchen, it went out to the sidewalk yesterday morning. Made a homeless man happy.

I really can not believe how good this thing sounds, and that Santa brought it to me, a jew.

What did you find in your stocking?

Coolest thing I got was 'A Love Supreme' Deluxe Edition CD set. I haven't had a chance to be alone with the music yet (to really get into it), but the 2nd disc has the only live performance of 'A Love Supreme' from the Antibes Jazz Fest in '65. Also includes a 'long rumored sextet version of the opening movement' which had never been released before. I've listened to this masterpiece before, but this should shed some new perspective on it.

I think it's just the 'newest' version. Not sure what distinguishes it from the SM-7 (or SM-7a).

.......anyone know???

people should check out those tivoli radios...

scored the model-2 version a while back (stereo), and use it as a modern day set of auratones

the mono unit also has an AUX in that sums to mono

and they also work as radios!

Yeah, I tried one of those Tivoli/Kloss mono radios out in a store and it sounded surprisingly good for such a little thing. I haven't run across it, but the stereo unit with a line input might be a best buy in budget nearfield monitoring. :)

An LAR Grizzly in 50AE.

If you don't know what that is, it's probably just as well.

A big rolling toolchest for the shop - hooray for organization. Last year was cool too, an FMR RNC - love it, need a couple more.

On the EZbus try setting the USB to audio only - no midi. Win2k boxes will definitely choke on the midi over USB, and maybe other flavors of windows too.

hope that helps

A very cool canon digital camera. I also bought myself a yellow lava lamp. That's going straight into the VO room. It'll freak out the talents!!
