Plug-in's - when they got it right first time..

hi Dave

Firstly, I'm really appreciating and enjoying your input on the internet, thank you for talking about your work.

I noticed you mention in articles that the C1 and L1 plug-in's are strong favourites of yours.

I wondered if you prefer these to their later siblings the C4 and L2 and 3..?

Thanks,

Rene

The C4 is not a later version of the C1. They're different beasts. The C1 is still totally relevant 10 years into its life as a most versatile (and underrated) tool.

While the L2 & L3 certainly improve on the L1 in terms of transparancy, the L1 is the only one with a mono component. And sometimes you use L1 because it's NOT transparent in certain situations.

C-1 is probably the single most under-rated plug-in there is. It takes a good while to really learn how and when to use it, I've been learning more and more about it for ten years. It can be amazingly useful. I wish to heaven they'd make a high-end double-precision version.
