How much does it cost to get into PT HD (used)?

How mcuh does it cost to get into Pro Tools HD for a used system? I don't really watch market prices so I'm hoping someone that does will reply to dhis.

I'm looking at:

1 HD processing card (or the HD plus thing)
192 converter with the options for AES or ADAT I/O so I can hook up my own converters
1 Core card (if they still exist)

Forget the plugs, I'm just wondering aboput used hardware costs.

Thanks1!

I priced a new HD1 system....bare bones from Jim Swain at Sweetwater about a year ago. Listed below is the break down. Not sure what a used one would go for. You probably wouldn't have a warranty with one of those though.......

1 PTCoreHD1 ProTools HD1 Core System 10
1 192io Audio Interface for PT|HD 28
1 192AD A/D Exp Card for 192 I/O 5
1 192DA D/A Exp Card for 192 I/O 5

$12,236.00

For a protools hd3 accel with 192i/o, i imagine that street price (new)you can get into something for about $13k new (w/o tax)

Be careful buying used, you'll lose a lot of the free plugins(from the HD packs)....sure they will work, but when it comes time to upgrade, you'll get the shaft on some(especially non-digi).

So in the used world, you can probably get into something for $11k with interface.

Don't waste your time with HD1, the admission price isn't worth it IMO.

i'd advise buying a new hd2 system at least and add process cards as you can. the reason new is so much better, is because of the free plugins, but if you got a used hd2 accel, you could get the massive pack, which is an amazing value!

I would look into buying new, it's usually worth it.

good luck
