RobertPhilbeck, my room is VERY small. My wife and I moved to a new place and unfortunately my project studio got significantly smaller. This room sounded terrible before I put up the acoustic treatment that I have up now. I could not even here the bass at my mix postion before. I can hear it now but I have to be in the correct posion which is actually closer to the speakers than an equal distant triangle would put me. I can't really complain to much because at a room this size it sounds fairly good (when you are in the right spot).

I added a floor plan picture and some more pictures of the space.

I would like to add another Mini Trap above the door on the back wall and another ceiling cloud in the back of the room as well. I can't treat the back wall because of the french doors but I do have 2 portable auralex panels that I put in front of the doors sometimes but to tell you the truth, I can't really hear a difference when I put them there.

Thanks for your ideas.

If the bass is non directional then what difference does it make if I have 2 MiniTraps in the cieling/wall corners above my speakers or if I have them at the wall/wall corner on the sides of my speakers? Why should I move the 2 traps that I have installed now to the other corners?

Oh, sorry. I got confused because those 2 are not MiniTraps, they are traps that I built that have 2" of 703 in them. That is a good idea though. I might try that or I might try to build 2 more traps myself that use 705 on the inside and 703 on the outside and span them across those corners.

Thanks for your help.

Here's a picture of my Mini Traps - I have 10 of them and I absolutely love them! My room is small but very high, that's why I had to use photoshop to get everything in one picture. Sorry about the size...

Hey Dan,

Apart from all the wonderful parts and the great looking room you have there the picture quality is fantastic too. It just looks like an image in one of those expensive Hollywood movies.
( Amazing what the digital cameras can do these days. )

Sub, I totally dig the colours in your place too. Great idea. I wouldn´t like Bordeaux red, but what you have there is different and looks great. Matches in a beautiful way with the grey surfaces.

Great places in this thread.

Ruphus

PS: Dan, I assume that you pull the table away from the wall when you mix, right?

Thanks, Ruphus. Yeah - in the top picture taken about a year ago, that was when I was just getting the system up and running. Probably just two weeks after that picture was taken the whole system got pulled out a good 3' from the wall. There was even enough room for me to walk back behind the racks. Not sure if you can see that in the second picture.

Here's some other shots of another private home project studio where I recorded a jazz album last November. http://www.thelisteningsessions.com/jazzooo-gallery.htm My Olympus C-5050ZOOM was in full force for that one. You're right. These latest digital cameras are amazing.

Actually, for the last couple of months I've been stuffed into a small room in a townhouse while we've been relocating. I'm building a new room from scratch in a large garage in a house we're moving to next week.

Need some good diffusion? Just stack up gear boxes on the back wall. Actually works pretty well.

Nice one Dot!

I just bought the same production desk pictured on the Listening Sessions site, that KK Audio one with the rack spaces below the monitor top shelf, best looking (and functional) desk before entering the Argosy bracket, lol...

fross, if the upload function isn't working here you can use

It's free. Just upload an image. Even spits out the code for you. Just cut and paste.

Hey Cochino,

Where'd you order your Real Traps from?

Did you get them shipped from the States or somewhere in Europe?

And dare I ask, How much were they?

And this is where I'm going

My wife and I are doing a addition/remodel number on the house, so I'll end up with this space added to the walk-out lower level of our house. The main overall dimensions are 17'x25' with ten foot ceilings. Due to the shape of the room I have no idea how I'll lay out my gear, but it'll be a one room affair with an iso booth.
