Reasonably Priced 12" or 15" Studio Monitors

...Nobody makes them anymore, do they?

I need something that can handle a tracking-bass-in-the-control-room-loud kind of situation. Also something that thumps a bit for fun playback.
Don't want to screw with a sub, really.

I can get my hands on Tannoy LGM12 and/or Urei 809.
There are also some JBL 44xx series around, but shipping will kill me.

Any other suggestions for around $1,000?

Thanks,
Seamus

Thanks, vernier.

I, actually, forgot that there is a pair of JBL 4410's in our store room that need tweets.

They "only" have a 10", though.
Anyone have any time in with the 4410's?
Can they... um.. pump the thump?

We have a pair of Quested S8's that are GREAT for mixing, but don't have the thump.
