Thread Starter | Transparent AU/VST compressor?
I'm looking for some recommendations as a starting point. Any help? The primary uses for such a compressor will most often be vocals and mix compression on acoustic/(relatively) minimalist recordings. |

The Sonnox Dynamics is a great choice but also check out the Flux pure compressor its the most transparent compressor I have ever heard. They do a Demo where you can really check it out without having an ilok.

| http://www.airwindows.com/f/Pressure.dmg I did 'VariMu' to be still more transparent than Pressure while also being a variable ratio comp, but some people prefer Pressure (which is free) Since it's free, you might want to try it even if you don't want to look into VariMu... |

As previously stated... Sonnox. I actually think the Renn Comp can be pretty transparent, too...

Of the comps I have currently I've settled on the Renn comp for these duties, which it does surprisingly well. Seems like there's got to be something out there that's a good step beyond it though... I think I had looked at the Sonnox comp before, but I don't have an iLok. Maybe it'd be worth getting one to try this compressor out. |
