Thread Starter | In search of a good plugin verb
Well, it's time to upgrade some stuff in my studio, and this time it's the reverb's turn. I currently use Waves RenVerb, but have always found that it sounds a bit grainy and metallic compared to the verbs used in commercial cd's. Also, although I have been able to tweak parameters and find some nice verbs for single sources, the sounds become muffled after adding more tracks. You can't quite hear the verb in a full mix, but if you increase the level, the sounds become lost. It's really hard for me to upgrade this part of my recording chain because it's not something tangible, just code. Also, the really good verbs out there seem to be quite expensive (no less than $300 maybe?) so it's a tough decision for me. So, what has been your experience? Native, convolution or maybe hardware? Any help is appreciated. I use PTLe 7, PC. |
