Should I buy a Quantec Yardtick?

I'm sitting on the fence on this one. I love the Quantec sound (never heard the Yardstick though) and have a chance to get a 2402 for $750.00.

I would still need converters to use with my console though and that is what is holding me back. Those are going to cost me some extra $ too.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes, buy it if you want it and will use it.

But they cannot be repaired really, or more specificly, the components that normaly break in those units are NOT replaceable.

Amazing peice of gear tho. I'd buy it.

Thanks. Thats what I thought, its a good deal.

I would still need an AD/DA with AES i/o. Any recommendations?
I need to see how much the whole setup is going to cost.

Quantec's support/documentation for a QRS I know was almost nil... so I'm not sure I can give them a thumbs up for the long haul.

Plus at AES 07 the lady in the booth was kinda pushy and nearly forced into my hands a little box that was shaped (huge) like the Yardstick to carry instead of a card/brochure. "Carry it like a baguette" she said. wtf?
