I have a crappy Yorkville DI i want to mod... If I were to do this... which most common components would be replaced in a DI to make it sound better?

Thanks
Pierre

Is there anything in that DI other than an impedance matching transformer?

There will be little more than a couple of resistors, a capacitor and the transformer. The transformer is the limiting problem. A nice Jensen JT-DB-E at about $70 will turn it into as good a passive DI as money can buy.

Sweeeet, is it hard to do? i dont know anything about electronics... If it's like a lego piece but with solder then it's no problem.

Go to the Jensen site: WELCOME TO JENSEN TRANSFORMERS, INC.

check the schematics section for the basic direct box (as007). Buy a JT-DB-E and the specified resitor. If you want (and if it fits), use your old DI case, jacks and switch. Done.
