| Our site is flash based, but even a modestly fast connection can load it quickly. I am not a fan of flash for flash's sake. In anything. I wouldn't wait five seconds for a crappy 4 second cartoon to load on my TV, and I'm sure as hell not going to wait for it on my computer. I agree that sound should only be served when requested. It should also be used as a demonstration of work, not as a background effect to immerse the viewer. It doesn't immerse me. It just annoys me. I like sites that demonstrate work done and have clear navigation. Too many recording studio sites seem to cater to other slutz more than potential clients. A gear list and studio pics are nice, but they shouldn't be the centerpiece unless the studio is primarily selling time to outside producers and engineers. Most of my clients couldn't care less about our mic locker. They just want to know I can get their job done on time and on budget. I do like client testimonials and I plan to include another page on our site with those soon. In this business, word of mouth drives business more than anything else. It also drives people to your site, which is, after all, the reason you have a web presence in the first place.

| This industry is in a pretty rough place these days. If someone lands on your dot-com and you choose to greet them with "loading" or "click to launch site" instead of information and a compelling sales pitch, your days are probably numbered. |

| I was trying to find out more about search optimization for flash websites as I'm going to start building mine soon... Search Engine Optimization for Flash Websites. We did it, here’s how. on BLITZ Labs, the BLITZ Agency Blog don't know if that would be any use to anyone. |
