i hear the album black sea was finished when they recorded this video, so they rerecorded "towers of london" just for this. "did somebody drop his mouse?" is a similar video filmed at trident studios showing how harry nilsson recorded son of scmilsson. probably on youtube too. dfegad

I always thought that Black Sea was recorded "live" in the studio with no OD's. Don't know where I got that ideas from, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Thanks turtlemoon. One of my favorite bands ever.
What a coincidence too. I was just going on about this song to one of my engineers just two days ago. footnote: had the pleasure of seeing XTC perform this song at a venue in New Jersey...I believe it was called Emerald City...probably over 25 years ago.

I saw that gem a few months back- XTC ranks as one of my 'desert island' bands - for a very long time.

Steve Lilliwhite is so young in that video - not to mention Andy, Colin, and Dave kicking out some great playing. Cool glimpses into the love of the harmonizer, how to get 'that' kit sound, etc. - love it.

cheers,
