Low end moderator(s) required!

"Low End" moderator and/or co-moderators required.

We have the High End + So Much Gear - So Little Time - my forum, which covers a sort of middle range and Gearslutz.com is now looking for someone to run a specific "Low End" equipment forum.

So, if you live in a world of budget recording gear, use it and abuse it + have a passionate knowledge of it - past, present and will continue to do so in the future please contact me via PM describing your situation, own gear list + some of your thoughts hopes and wishes for such a forum.

Engineering matters & production matters get discussed on ALL the main recording gear forums - so topic's wont be restricted JUST to equipment although that is the primary subject of the forum.

Expert ability with the English language is NOT required for this position, applicants with English as a 2nd language are welcome.

This is a voluntary and part time position.

Best regards to all,

Jules

I love your devotion for the forum Jules! But why a low end forum? The internet is packed with low end forums. I think Gearslutz covers everything that is good with audio forums – and the vibe is friendly/cool. The guest moderator forum is a brilliant move.

My 2 cents.

If Australia can donate a queen to the Royal Danish Family, the least those Danish could do is offer the biggest props to Jules and let LABS get his own 9volt powered forum... Im stepping upto the plate and putting his name forward.!

Viva le LABS!

In light of the threats made to my family if I don't cooperate... I can't think of a more deserving nominee to answer the calls of pathos attendant to the lowend forum than our own Danish Ambassador Labs.

Havn´t noticed Labs ( I apologize being pretty superficial with names ), but would think that Alpha to be ideal as he can relate to expensive gear as well and from there should be well qualified to pick the bang for the buck boxes from the less expensive shelf. And Manning1 I believe is all about researching price / quality efficiency as well.

Although I generally share Dim Light´s view too. Masses could be bringing coolly and cynical atmosphere of Cubase-the-like forums with them which would potentially be taking away GS special temper.

FWIW,

Ruphus

Being Danish myself I feel I can speak with a certain authority on this: LABS is the man to get. Snap him up before any Danish wannabe-forums get to him first..!!!

It will come as no surprise to anybody that The Curve likes the idea of a "low-end" type forum, and Labs seems as good a candidate to moderate it as anyone (especially since he didn't know about the drain in the middle of the live room for hosing down the funky-smelling musicians, which tells you he's truly "low-end").

I'm just not sure about the title or concept of "low end" in the literal sense, because it implies that we have low expectations and ambitions, which might not generally be the case.

Whereas, if you called the forum "The Digital Underground," or "Guerilla Engineering" or SOMETHING that implied a pro-active edge to the intended purpose of the excercise itself of practicing the recording sciences from a ghetto perspective...that might make the forum "cooler," or "phatter," more "dope" or "ill," or give it more "punch" or "balls."

We ARE the wave of the future, after all. We might seem "LOW" now, but we will RULE YOU ALL very soon.

Can I get a witness?

Regarding the name of the forum, the best one I've heard yet has been Wiggy's suggestion of "9V Powered Forum".
Kent,

If that implies you have some affinity for active guitar pickups, then your credibility on this issue is absolutely destroyed.

NOBODY in a TRUE "low-end" spirit would ever touch a guitar with active pickups.

My condolences, mon ami.

Well, I guess there is only one answer: LABS

Christ, I thought this could have been avoided.

And a damned philosophy major at that. Since there aren't many jobs available for philosophers, you may as well hand the forum over to him.

What next................?

If it meant that future cluster bombs would be ordered from Behringer I´d be all for the idea. They´d probably deliver plastic coated peanuts and cause a couple shrubs to grow in strange environments.

Labs for president!

Or, wait ... Isn´t it that peanuts can get pretty aggressive? I remember some story of one specimen attacking an American oil companies assistant.

Sorry for getting OT, it´s all Wiggy´s fault.
