I'm not so easily won over by a cheap marketing campaign or by following the moral majority.

So mine is a double vote for choas.

I nominate Curve Dominant and Alphajerk.

What these boys couldn't tell you about a DI or pro tools ain't worth knowing.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Please leave me out of this.

Let Labs be the "hallway monitor."

I'm content with my role as the bad kid who's always on the verge of being expelled.

Taking a moderating gig would ruin my reputation.

Can I put that more simply?

Hell, yes...

F&CK OFF!

Yeah yeah Labs blah blah Labs blee blee Labs

How's about this...Jules is taking applications and though the forum is going to be run with me it's ultimatly his call. In the other people that have contacted him I've seen a whole bunch of equipment lists but nobody is talking about WHY they want to be a part of it or their background in AE or whatever they do. Personally, the less I see on an equipment list the happier I am. But, we're looking for someone who knows DAW's pretty well and also keys and synths. It's not a requirement, but a plus.

Guess that forum could be ran by several people, innit?
And hey, you "mass euphorics", Labs is prolly a good choice as you all seem to agree, but ya know whom I´d think to be certainly great choice?
No?
Beg your pardon, but I have to say it still
Jim Williams. I don´t expect him to agree as he´d prolly be scarce with time, but he´d be a blast for people in need of utmost advice ( if that is correct English language what I´m using here ).

I´have been admiring how the man manages to analyze so many different devices. Unbelievable.

Mr. Williams, if you read this and could spare some time for moderating you´d be a great help to so many people. It could literally influence the industry a bit.

Wouldn´t be that bad. thumbsup

Hmmm...

There's something strikingly counterintuitive about that.

For a "Low End" forum?? One would think a LACK of gear would be a prerequisite.

Right??

This should be a forum about how to make more with LESS.

HELLO?

Hmm... what's your vision for the new forum and why do you want to be a part of it? Just curious as to what you feel needs changing in order to get more people interested with participating in the forum... regardless of what it might be called?

Great question...at this point I decline to answer it on account of discussions with Jules.

Jim Williams wouldn't be a good choice for Guerrilla Sound. He turns his nose up at the new AKG414 because it uses surface-mount components.

Now if there was a "Dusty gear" or "The good ol' days" forum, he'd be top of the list......

How about...

Whomsoever can removist thy steel skewer from Fletcher's Mackie/ADAT sculpture aka "Sh*t On A Stick" shall be thy choosen one? It blends Arthurian logic and a plug for Mercenary.

Or...

Who can write the best 500 word or less essay on the best condenser vocal microphone for under $200? A most practical skill-no?

Another handy use of the low end forum is to use it for probationary purposes, such as if a "pro" forum member crosses the line = answering 50 questions from people like me in the Low End forum. Maybe about the virtues of a Tascam 424 vs. a Studer.

Although that kind of thing would be pretty amusing come to think of it.
