Thread Starter | restoration... any help?
I'm trying to help a friend. her question: "I'm trying to resurrect these old megaphones that used to be mounted atop a bell tower... they were made by Atlas and are 70v. I think they might be 30-40 years old. I'm not sure if the driver in them is still good, so I have to buy an amp to see if they work, or if the driver needs to be replaced." apparently she found a place that sells parts, and they recommended this: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...TOKEN=31085222 she has to run two of these megaphones into the amp (for an installation project) and her only concern is that it's 20W and it may not be powerful enough. on the other hand, the horns are so big (30" diameter) that it might not need much wattage. the sound doesn't have to be extremely loud, just enough so that it will not be eaten up by the space its being exhibited in with 20' ceilings. if anyone has any knowledge in this dept. and could chime in that would be great. thanks in any case! oto |
