Texas/New Mexico Gear Rentals

Any recommendations for preamp rentals in the Texas or New Mexico areas?

Thanks...

I would check with David Barrow. He does location recording and live sound:

David Barrow Productions
3633 North Hills Drive
Austin, TX 78731
512.345.7106 office
512.799.8468 mobile
david@davidbarrow.com

You could also try:

I've rented backlines through them for SXSW many times. They also do sub-rents for when you need items they don't stock.

Here's something funny...Back in '97 in Albuquerque I tried to set up a little rental business. None of the studios had ANY good outboard gear, mics, etc. So I got some 1272s, api lunchbox, Urei LA3A, a pair of distressors, a couple of neat mics including an RCA ribbon, and guess what?

Nothing. Nobody cared. People said, "Why do I need that stuff? My Mackie has mic-pres. My black ADATS sound fine. "

Too bad you weren't around back then. I would have had ONE customer!

Toy Specialists was good to me - they cut me great deals on rentals & were very accommodating.

To clearify....I meant you didn't miss much by missing the auction.

I am sure The Toy Specialist will be missed.
