Mute Math

This band is awesome, they're just about to come out with a new album, and holy cow... it's recorded in a house!!!

Nice thumbsup

Check this out too: YouTube - Mute Math Studio Vlog: Track 02: HYPERBASS

Never seen bass recorded in a bathroom before, hahaa. I'm really waiting to hear the new album. I just hope the new one won't be so squashed in the mastering as the first album.

Interesting. Looks like a nicely set up house/studio. Didn't get any feel for their music from either of those clips, but Papa G was certainly very groovy.

I am consistently impressed with this band. And although I haven't seen them live, from what I can tell based on youtube videos they can pull off a decent show and actually play their songs live as good as on the record (rare with new pop these days it seems).

I am also looking forward to their new album which I guess is dropping soon?

Sweet

Man I'm pumped on this album. I saw them live and they are freaking incredible, my friend and I just sort of stared at the stage in disbelief once they left. It was an hour and a half of nonstop music and talent.

Yeah, I really want to see them live. Maybe the next tour?

The first album was squashed as hell, but the second live release was much better.

who produced that first record? i just listened to the clips from itunes, sounds like jjp.

i can't listen to music mastered this way, it's too fatiguing to me and every song has the same hyper-urgency even though the music doesn't seem to want or need it; i either have to buy stuff on vinyl and digitize it myself, or take a pass on the whole affair.

i wonder if the artists and labels will ever choose differently.

Even though it's a shame that some albums just get squashed lifeless, I still try to take it one song at a time just to get into the music. It's funny how good music or a good band can still emerge from equipment/ label's onslaught. The only problem is that the average listener can't tell the difference, and they only steal one radio single of a band!
