Gefell m950

Hello all,
Looking to pick up a gefell mic and I wanted to know if anyone has tryed our the m950. I borrowd a 930 from a friend and was pretty much sold on it. I was ab'ing with some different mics I have and it just sounded more.......FULL!! Awesome mic. SO if anyone has any experience with the m950 let me know. Also any opinions would be nice too. I just bought a used c414 b-uls so I'm looking for something to compliment that..

thanks

414s are awesome. NT3s are OK but but nothing like 414s. I really can't speak for the Gefells but I have friends who love them. From forums like these, I've also heard alot of good things. They used to send me a catalog every so often and one thing I can say is that they make some pretty cool looking mics! If they sound as good as they look, they are worth looking at.

Since the price is similar I'd forget the m930 and go for the UMT71s or the UMT70s if the budget allows (they are respectively cardiod and multipattern versions of the same mic). Having owned a pair of UMT70s a couple of years now all I can say is that I'm quite satisfied. They perform wonderfully on just about everything from vocals, acustic intrument to OH's, distorted guitars, bass and... the list goes on

If I were in you I woulnd't esitate a second.

UMT70 is a really good one, it was remarkably close to a (good) CMV563+M7 overall, just a bit cleaner and more open. I really liked it.
