Peluso P12s for overheads?

Anyone using a pair of these mics on overheads? Any comments?

I've tried them. They are airy/bright and nice harmonic content which makes them sound 'alive'. Very much the opposite of something like a ribbon. I would use these on overheads with a full multi mic setup with close micing (i.e. 6 or more mics) because they'll get the cymbals and mostly attack of the drums. If you were doing a 4 drum thing I'd prefer 2247LE's (and experiment with the polar pattern to get the deepest sound for the room) along with the kick and snare mics since the LE's have more body in comparison.

Yes. Though admittedly, the P12's I used were doctored by a guy who knows his way around real vintage mics and the P12's in question are stunning sounding and made to compare to this guys real C12's.

Hope your room is a good one. The P12 is pretty open and if you have crazy reflections you'll find out in a hurry. The word "alive" in Nathan's post hits the mark for sure...

Haven't used any of his other mics but by golly, the R14 was MADE for overheads!
