HP Pavilion a6460t customizable Desktop PC
What do you think about these specs? Do you need to know anything else? |

Also, I run a firepod through my laptop right now. I'm upgrading soon to an API A2D...but I was just wondering how I'm going to hook my firewire to my new desktop

yes sounds alright, nothing special about vista, all depends what you're using it for, sounds about the minimum you should have for a truely well running PT LE system.

350...haha that must be a joke. I've never heard of a reliable computer that's under 600. My computer cost 700 dollars. It's an intel 2 duo core so it's a step up from dual core processors. Cubase is not a step up from Adobe Audition just because more people use it. I have Cubase SX3 and don't like it. I've been trying to work with reaper a little bit lately but am not used to it so I'm sticking to Audition 3.0 for now.

$600-700 sounds about right for that particular computer if you upgraded the RAM, apparently Dylansmale hasn't been to a Best Buy lately. If you ever have the budget I have to second the recommendation for the Mac Pro. Just throwing that out there. |

I got it right from the HP dealer. Yes the RAM is upgraded...Yes the processor is upgraded (intel 2 duo core not an intel dual core). It's without a monitor too. I wanted to find a reliable computer and I heard that HP is pretty good. Better than Dell...A lot better than Gateway. I dont' have the money for a Mac right now. Wish I did.
