Thread Starter | Motu 24 i/o not an a/d d/a convertor`
Hey guys Im thinking of buying a motu 24 i/o but I just get sketched out by a few things. They dont call it an a/d d/a converter, yet it does provide 24 inputs and outputs from analogue into the computer. And I simply cant figure out what the difference is... And why they say it is not stand-alone. But it totally can be. Any input would be cool... not on quality or how a lynx would be better. |

it's not a stand alone converter, unlike say the 2408 it cannot operate without the PCI-324/424 card, hence it's an 24I/O interface with wordclock, nothing less and nothing more. Pzz |

well, it *is* an a/d/a converter; as mentioned, it just sends and receives its converted data via a firewire cable to the motu 324/424 card in the computer. there's no other way to record or playback with it. iow, it's a converter with a proprietary interface, rather than having s/pdif or aes or adat optical. gregoire del ubk . |
