Thread Starter | What're You Doing with Oni These Days? THAT SHOULD READ OMNI. I SHOULD REALLY PROOF READ. So, I've been on this big omni kick lately. I've been experimenting a lot with my DPA 4060's and a pair of 183's. Both have yielded me tremendous results, especially on acoustic instruments. My new favorite acoustic guitar miking technique is a 4060 mounted at the bridge pointing at an angle towards the player's hand and a DI off the guitar and voila! everything I need. I've also been throwing the 183s up in the room whenever I'm recording anything and its been giving me killer ambience, especially on vocals. So what spiffy techniques are everyone using these days with omni-directional microphones/patterns? I feel like its such a natural sound when combined with close mics and is particularly underused. Enlighten me to your genius fellow slutz. |
