Here's one of my latest recording efforts, my own band had to do a tribute to Motorhead , to me its always hard to record my own bands, engineering and playing at the same time eh... this is done in one afternoon, just threw in some mics on the drums , mixing the next morning, had to be done quick, went a bit overboard on compression :(

Yeah Haarlem is very close, But it must have been my old band you have seen, this band is brandnew and never played live before, in fact when we did this recording we only rehearsed 3 times together.
A recordlabel asked if we were interrested in doing something for a tribute album.

I saw you in Hammerhawk and on several other occasions. I lived in Heemskerk for 4 years and in Beverwijk for 2 years.

Right now I have a small studio in my home and am producing my own stuff,..which isn't exactly the stuff you do ;).

Again I gotta say you guys ROCK , if I walked into a room without knowing and your track was playing I'd swear it was MotorHead .

Whats the trick to sing like him ? I thought his voice could never be copied . What do you do drink a bottle of whiskey and stay up all night and track the next morning ?

Well, as this was just a quick afternoon recording, I just used my spare amp that was here in the studio, it's a Marshall JCM900 with an old TS-808 stompbox and a 4x12" 1960 cabinet.
a SM-57 on axis at the edge and D19C off axis next to it.
Guitar was a Gibson SG with Iommi pickups.
Basicly just placed the 2 mics, plugged it in and turned it up.
Lucky shot i guess !

The trick to sing like him hahaha, I dont know, didnt need any whiskey or staying up the night before, e im not a singer and i had a cold maybe thats it ?
I doubled the vocals and it was both one take done in about 10 minutes.

Glad everyone likes it

Just for fun we did record a Kiss song at the same session but thats still waiting for the right singer.

ART Dual Levelar mods

Hello there,

I see that you have a modded ART Dual Levelar.
Did you do this yourself ?
Do you still have the circuit diagrams, and details of the alterations ?
I am about to buy one, and so far have been unable to find schematics.

Bye now,
aomahana.

Thats great, there are lots of modifications on the net.
Try some better opamps, and change the tube for a black plate 5751, bypass electrolitic signal path caps etc.
Good luck !
Let me know about the results
