Mic Under $1500? Ak 47, VTB other? voice type sample included

I decided to get a new mic. I'm looking at the Telefunken U47 or the Peluso VTB...very dfferent I know!!
The tele, because it seams like a great piece of gears, it looks good and people are saying a lot of great things about it. The VTB because well it's suppose to be the closest to My Dream Mic: a Sony C800G.
Now just so you know, I love the air"y" sound of the sony. I like my c414 on vocals as well ( a bit harsh on Essss sometimes) but I hate Neumman mics especially the U87. TO ME (only to me) it sounds very muddy, unclear and doesn't fit my voice at all.
Thats said what mic would you recommend (between the two or others) for under $1500?
It will go thru a avalon 737 sp baby face mod.
Thanks
ps: to give you an idea of my voice here is a quick demo (nothing final just piano strings worm with dummy vocals but you ll get the idea)

Can you get both from the same vendor, and send back the one you don't want?

Not having either one, but having heard clips of both, I'd vote for the AK47. The vocal (414?) already seems too airy. From the VTB vocal clips I've heard, I would think you would end up with nothing but air, which would make it even harder to understand the words. (For me, the whispering behind the vocal was a distraction - like ghost tracks from a different vocal. Perhaps the mp3 is the problem?)

Nice song.

glad you like the song, there is no whispering behind the song though, just one vocal track. It's not mixed at all so I might have went a little too hard on the Quick Eq High pass I put on while recording (plugin so i can take it off)
You are right the c 414 is pretty airy but I love that about it. he reason why i was considering the ak47 was because I knew it would be very different from the AKG . the VTB might sound very similair.
I just don't know if for my type of voice The telefunken will be a match.
I wish I could try both but GC is not a Peluso dealer so they have to order it and I think they have a policy about mics (for Hygene as what I understood) where you cannot return them.

The AK47 might be cool on your voice. If you want air but something different , how about the ADK Vienna II AU? Cuts through, decent airy sheen, and could match nicely with the Avalon. Isn't overly sibilant either.

Why do I have a gut feeling about the AT4060 working?

cool track, i think you would be happy with the vtb. do you see you're self being able to afford the sony in the near future? that to me would be the only reason not to get the vtb. not that they the same mic in any way but if you had the ak47 for example and the sony 800g you would have two varying mics. as opposed to a 800g and vtb. if however the 800g is you're dream mic and you'll be dreaming about it for the next 15 years than the vtb is the mic for you!

What Mic you using on the recording? That would be a good starting point. Your using an Avalon as the sample pre? Sounds good but a little crispy to me. It's a 414?

Ok , yes I'm using the 414 > avalon 737 which is a bit crisp for my taste too (the 414 not the avalon). I love the air from the 414 but It does wives me a lot of sibilance and I ALWAYS have to use a De-esser. Can I afford the Sony?...Hmm yes maybe but ...will I spend over $7K for 1 mic..no...at least not now. I'd rather buy something like a VTB plus 2 killer preamp and comp, it's more versatile to me.
I think I will eventually buy both, the VTB and the Telefunken but I was wondering which one to get first. I like air in my vocals but if the VTB is going to sound harsh as the 414, then I might want to get something a bit warmer like the funken.
thanks for the help
M.
