newb question regarding apogee

Folks,
Question for you. Can I use Apogee Rosetta with my mbox-2(i guess thru spdif), that way i will get a better converter and skip the preamp and AD converter of mbox and still use protools.
Abhijit.
P.S. Will there be any issues?
My current setup:
Mic->preamp->mbox-2->computer.
Future setup(if feasible)
Mic->preamp->Apogee Rosetta->Mbox2->computer.
