Firestudio headphone mix question

OK, I am a little confused about the firestudio. Please excuse my ignorance if it seems obvious but I'm quite new to recording. My question is the following: On the firestudio features, the following is stated:

"The Control Console is capable of creating up to nine stereo mixes and then routing to the outputs of your FireStudio for headphone mixes and various aux sends"

Now, the control console is a software feature. Does this mean that I have to purchase a separate headphone amplifier in order to utilize these headphone mixes? For example, this: AUDIO TECHNOLOGY - HEADPHONE/MONITORING AMPLIFIERS - POWERPLAY PRO-8 HA8000 : 8-Channel High-Power Headphones Distribution Amplifier

I hope my question makes sense and thank you in advance.

Pretty much, yes.
I have a Powerplay 4000 that has served me well for the past few years.
Between the FS console software and your DAW software, you can be as creative as you need to be in setting up monitor mixes.
