Dynaudio BM15/BM6 passives VS Truth passives

I've narrowed down my monitor search to a pair of Dynaudio Passives (either BM6 or BM15s) or a pair of Truth Audio passives (the TA-1Ps). I'm having a hard time finding anywhere that has passive dyns OR the Truths, let alone both to compare. I'm thinking about just ordering a pair unheard, and then returning them if I don't like them after a week or so in the studio. Anyone have direct experience with all of the three sets listed above?

FWIW: I'm working in a 12X12 control room with some basic acoustic treatment. I work on a wide variety of including acoustic music (folk, singer/songwriter types, etc), jazz, funk, soul, hard rock, and reggae. I'm coming from Mackies and Tannoy Reveals. I'm looking to pick up a Hafler P3000 or P4000 to go with the new monitors. Bugdet is around 1k (not including the amp).

Hi Stefan, I recently got a pair of the BM6a's (thanks to the input of the gear slutz) and I love mixing on them. I can listen for long periods of time and not get ear fatigue. They seem very accurate but have a sweet sound to them. I have read the passive BM6's sound even better but I am very happy with the ampified version, well worth checking out. Just so you know the 6's are near-field but have good low end response. I have read some good things about the BM15's but have not heard them.

We have the BM15a which I like very much. They have a pleasing sound with little or no fatigue after long sessions but most important is my mixes translate very well with them & it took very little time to get to know them.

Nobody's had experience with all three (or just one of the dyns and truths)?

Thought I'd bump it one more time. I've heard tons about the Dyns, so I'd really like to hear some experiences with the Truths, and if possible a comparison to the BM6s. I'd also love to hear a comparison between the BM6s and BM15s.

i have the bm6's I think your amp choice there can make a huge differenc. I keep hear about what a shitty am the p3000 is, but i have one use, it and it works fine. I suppose if i put it up next to a Bryston, i would wanna make the change but....i probably would have gotten ADAM's at that point...

Stefan,

You have heard it over and over about how great the Dyn's sound.. You would be very happy with the BM6's, and they would do a great job for you with the amount of money you are trying to spend. I wouldn't be able to reccomend anything over the Dyn's... They are really the best way to go in my opinion.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.
