AMEK Hendrix + Mozart: Mix Examples

I'm looking for specific examples of songs/albums mixed using these 2 consoles.

I read somewhere that Pink Floyds the Division Bell was mixed on a Hendrix. Anyone know if that's true?

Go ahead and ad the Amek Einstein to that list. There's parts of that board that make it a decent contender for mixing in my book......at least routing wise.

There must be some "good" records that were mixed through one of these 3 consoles.

The last time I was staff was in the mid 90's at a place where we had both the Hendrix and the Einstein. We had one of two Hendrix desks with P&G moving faders, the other was on David Gilmour's boat, where I know they were using the board quite regularly - can't confirm the mixing of Division Bell - I had to conference call with Gilmour's engineer and Amek regarding the super-true automation, which didn't like the P&G's at first. I really like both boards but I'd say be careful buying one, Amek had a real bad run on pots, and they had to replace nearly every single pot on the Einstein, and if I remember correctly, quite a few on the Hendrix. We mixed several indie records on the Hederix, including some early Butch Walker in his band The Floyd's Funk Revival as well some punk bands like the Antiheroes. I also know there were quite a few hip hop producers that came through to do some of their lower budget records, I just can't remember which - I'll try to dig that up.

Thanks for the info.

I'm real curious to listen to some examples of good mixes that were done by mixers WAY better than myself on these boards. Something that can truely put my mind at ease, and tell me......yeah, it's possible to have a mix with that kind of seperation, width, and character on that console.

Regardless of how much outboard gear was available. Or how awsome the original tracking was.

I'd also be mainly interested in hearing mixes from these desks that are "big productions", with strings/horns, lots of backing vox, guitars, keys, etc. Something where there were lots of inputs hitting the console/stereo buss, and making full use of all the routing features, bussing, aux sends, etc.

The latest Kathy Mattea record "Coal" was mixed on my Mozart RN. They mainly summed, but the character of the desk is clear. Lynx Aurora converters out of nuendo into the console, out to an API 5500 EQ for very slight adjustments and then to the Alan Smart C1for compression.
