I was lucky enough to have Burgess go through my 250C and put a new op amp in it, etc. That was in the fall, and he turned it around surprisingly quick. Since then, I bought another Sontec (an even older model), and waited 6 months for an op amp (never got it). I talked to Burgess, and it seems they had some problems with the production of the op amps. But I believe that was rectified......... He hasn't changed a thing with the guts, so they will sound the biz. Oh, and fwiw, I'll be selling my 250C as soon as my other Sontec is cleaned up. (2 weeks tops). |

Quite a few people have gotten new 250EXs. Just not people that watch this thread. Look in the mastering forum maybe. People seem to think they sound the same, and there are probably EXs Burgess has ready for delivery.

I've been in touch with Burgess often in the last year, getting parts for my old old MEP-230. So at least we know he's around. Great guy. What an amazing-sounding EQ. He said he wasn't doing AES in nyc but as far as I know he's going full speed. Why not give him a call?
