Analogue Solutions

Hi!

I´m considering ordering some gear from Analogue Solutions in the UK

http://www.analoguesolutions.com/

Any one here done any business with them? Are they spongeworthy?

I've got a few of their modules and I'm happy with them.
The ones that stick out are the 909 based bass and snare drum modules, on these the pitch is controllable via cv so it is possible to play melodies on them.
The SY01 moog-style filter is exactly that and thus a bit boring (to me) but it comes with eg and vca built in and can be used on its own.
The SY02 Korg MS20 based filter is an absolute screamer, my favourite filter alongside Doepfers Wasp-style job.
The sequencer modules are also very handy and in tandem with the Oberkorn very versatile, especially for percussion. If you want to sequence melody lines you'd probably better of with the slider version.

The cowbell is a bit of a disappointment tho'. I mean it works perfectly well as a cowbell but a different lay out of the controls and a pitch cv input would have made it into a totally essential module. Sounds great with some (or a lot) of distortion applied.

My favourite module is the old (Tom Carpenter, Mr Analogue Solution, upgraded it since I bought mine) masterclock. The old one was somewhat unstable when warm and this means it has a surprisingly musical 'groove' to it. The later version which found its way into my Oberkorn is a lot more stable and does not do that.

All of Toms modules work perfectly well with Doepfer modules and mixed in the same rack they do not leave tiny gaps like you get if you mix Doepfer and Analogue Systems units.

Personally I never had problems dealing with Tom, a very pleasant guy to do business with.

they have been around for a long, long time.

They sell to pro audio stores, direct to customers etc..

You should have no problems ordering from them.

I put their midi kit and some of their other mods in my TR-808. The instructions were really good - clear and easy to understand. Everything worked perfect first time.

They also seemed nice to deal with. I'd spend more money there.
