so true and i'm one that doesn 't care for bare tracks in examples. i like a bit of context as i don't record much acapella or bare bones speech

AND where do I get the orange MA5's?

I've got a red and it's not as cool
Ya gotta know people high up the ladder.

Honestly I think that was Bryan McCurry's, probably a custom color, he and Avedis are like peanut butter and jelly. Kind of a weird analogy.

Are these MA5s good for running instruments through when mixing?

It was one of the prototype faceplates... a one off when we were working out all of the different color combinations. I think Bryan ended up with it, and it's now in someone else's hands.

Yep... you just need a couple of Avedis' line z adapters.

Did yall hear what I heard from these samples? The BAE 312A sounded so smooth and even across the spectrum. This can't be. It almost sounded like there was a compressor in the chain. Wow. Unbelievalbe preamp and it sounded the most professional out of all the other preamps. Damn, somebody give me a deal on two of these right now!!! Anybody else feel this way about the BAE's? The BAE sounds like the goto preamp for vocals!!!

My second pick would be the Purple Audio Pants for vocals. Man that things sounds nice and clean!!

The MA5 and the BAE 312a were my favorite on male vocals but out of the two, I'd have to pick the MA5. Im gonna join the 500 club soon when i get enough cash!

I heard that too, I was already interested in the 312A's just for bass, but now I'm definitely going to pick a pair up for use on other things as well. I was also pleasantly surprised with the JM-130, I like how they sound.
