Board or summing mixer? (chandler mini-mixer)

Hey guys,
thinking about a small board to mix some tracks, but an engineer wiz friend of mine said i'd be better off with a dangerous summing mixer

going for coloration over neutrality

boards i was thinking of in my budget:

TL-Audio M1 or M3 (i heard mostly bad things about these)
toft atb either 16 or 24 (heard better things about these)

Summing mixers:
Dangerous
mix dream

then the sort of off shoot is the new
chandler mini mixer

which ive heard could be superior for this purpose even above the summing mixers, as it has a greater deal of control, is all discrete grade a

and reamplifies every individual channel (i know someone was mentioning this before as a great benefit)
