h8000fw and cubase

Hey am thinking about 'doing this', but am a little confused. Is it possible to setup 4-8 channels of digital fw audio with this fx box to cubase via 'external effects' plug in in cubase? Not sure how this will work
1. because cubase can only utilize 1 audio driver at a time.

2. How would one normally go about using the fw connection with a sequencer?

Alternativly, how does one get 8 channels of separate digital through 1 spdif connection?

AFAIK the H8000FW only supports Logic so Cubase won't work. The only workaround would be to use the H8000FW as your audio interface.

I'm using it with Cubase 4 by passing audio through my FF400's outputs into the analog inputs of the H8000FW & then recording the processed audio back into Cubase .

Never used it via spdif so can't help you there.

if you have spare adat I/O on your audio interface you could route to/from the H8000FW via adat.

if you're on a mac you could create an aggregate device in core audio and then use the FW to route to/from the eventide. on a mac you can use it w/anything that supports core audio afaik. just create the aggregate device.

hmmm, i'm also considering getting a scope card to be able to route this manually.....

...on the eventide manual it even says though, there is more jitteer when using the fw connection... looks like I'll try to sync adat then!
