MEEDY? HAHAHHAHAHA that was freaking hilarious. listen at 3.45-4.00

On another note, as much as I hate this stuff and prefer to just get a good take etc, I can see the applications for this are enormous... I'm totally wowed.

Well, getting the best take is always preferred. This sure can help alleviate concerns about problems if they do occur. Makes you less concerned about having an uptight musician wondering if they can get their track where it needs to be.

Plus, this is free-king cool!!!!!

OK, could someone please just explain to me what's so bloody hilarious about the pronounciation of MIDI? Really? I just don't get it, and it's been bugging me for some time now. Thanx.

Ok...so it's supposed to be "Middi" more than "Meedee"? (Just don't wanna make a fool of myself next time I cross the pond).

I think we're maybe learning a huge difference between Europe and the States.

Do they say it MEEDEE and we say it MiDDEE?

Or is this just the Melodyne guy?...

Or is it only certain Scandinavian countries?

Wow. I wonder how it works with say a bunch of voices in a mono track? I'd imagine this would be a tremendous hit with security / investigational / restoration type stuff as well.

Flippin cool.

If it changes the tone like their plugin does, I'll want no part of it. Math is exact. Or not.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but AFAIK, any pronounciation sounds about right to my ears. I'd say MeeDee (as in CD) if it was a separate word, but maybe not if it was in conjunction with something else; say "Middee Keyboard" for instance (Middee as in "Kitty"). But then I'm not British.
Anyway, in Swedish MIDI is pronounced as CD.

That's interesting!

I thought it was just the weird Melodyne guy. But it's a whole country! I stand corrected.

You learn something every day.

My girlfriend in high school was Swedish. I learned a lot about Swedish culture during that period. Apparently I did not learn how they pronounce MIDI.

cheers,
Chad

In the States, MIDI is pronounced rhyming with "city."

Hehe, I don't blame you. Guess that might not be the hottest topic at the dinner table, eh?
Anyway, thanks for sorting out the pronounciation issue!

that's insane...i would imagine distorted guitars would not be as easy to manipulate as clean tone/acoustic guitars, but still, that is really impressive...
