Interesting Read. Monster vs. Blue Jean

Blue Jeans Cable Strikes Back - Response to Monster Cable — Audioholics Home Theater Reviews and News

Interesting read regarding a legal threat made by Monster against Blue Jean cable. Bet this wasn't what they expected. Be sure to read the last 3 paragraphs.

Thanks for posting the link Companies that generate income and justify their existence on the ignorance of consumers and the competition will always be garbage in my book. I would say Monster certainly qualifies.

Monster gets punk'd again. They're REALLY developing a CRAPPY reputation over the last few years. I know I'll never spend another dime on a Monster product again.

+1

I am very reluctant to give them my money as this is how they carry on.

Plenty of other cable makers out there. (Actually I do my own but lets ignore that)

Tops to Blue Jeans.

I like Monster cable well enough, but I don't see an obvious infringement based on appearance. There's nothing that looks like the Monster logo or other markings, except maybe the rings encircling some of the connectors. I can't see how Monster'd win, though there's always the pay-off. My guess is they'll let this one go.

I think it was less intelligent than it looks, because the guy should've played dumb, soundly defeated the stunned Monster in court, and obtained his collateral estoppel to let all the other little cable makers eat Monster's lunch.

He could've obtained virtually anything in settlement had he done so.

I guess this ex lawyer should have taken some advice from you.

Seriously, though, he probably just wants to do business and make cables and not mess with this BS.

I've been on the wrong side of an accusation like this, and I really enjoyed reading his letter. As he mentioned in his statement, his interest is seeing Monster fail at their attempt, not to let them get away with it. As far as I can tell, he'd rather loose money making them eat shit in court then enabling them to play dumb for the sake of profit down the road.
