| Digital Format Converter Who makes a box that converts 8 channel (4) S/PDIF ins and outs to 8 channel either (4) AES, TDIF or ADAT? Goal: I've got four effects processors with S/PDIF IO that I would like to interface with a Digidesign 192 digital and I'm trying to avoid four seperate spdif to AES converters. The Alesis AI-4 almost does it but it converts bi-direction AES & ADAT. I think Tascam use to make a box but not sure if it's still available or the model number. RME doesn't even seem to make one. Thanks in advance ![]() |

| yep I just went through that in a recent thread on Geekslutz. I ended up picking up a used Z-Sys 8.8a (about 1/2 way down that page). Seems completely transparent and works perfect for distributing ADAT to/from SPDIF. I can also mult the ADAT signals. |
