Cleaning console top, what solution?

I have a few old Soundcraft consoles that I want to clean. This is mainly just a cosmetic clean not inside. What solution do you use that doesn't leave streaks? I find I'm using Q-tips to get in the small spots but just dampened with water leaves marks.

You want to use something non-residual, like pure alcohol or a similar solvent, so that the innards won't be gummed up if any leaks inside... NOT water or detergent.

I asked this a while ago on PSW and the answer I got was a ShopVac with bristles on it.

Thanks, adding a little dish soap to the mix fixed it. I was not touching the electronics, just getting grime off the face itself.

Speaking from personal experience, if your using a vac to clean, make sure you don't have any loose knob caps ect...

Once you've cleaned the gunk off use a clean paint brush to dust the console every few weeks.
