Thread Starter | Sealing bass ports on ported speakers
What effect would sealing the 'bass reflex' ports on ported monitors have? Is it possible for it to be a positive effect? |

The ports are in a position to send bass out the front of the speaker at the same time the cone is moving forward. At certain frequencies. When the speaker moves back it send air out the port. The distance it travels to the port makes it come out at the same time as the speaker moving forward. Hope that makes sense. I'm having trouble putting it into words. If you plug the ports you will lose bass. And on top of that the speaker won't be able to move as far in and out. Loosing even more bass.
