Trying to get the EQ working on a LTD-1

Maybe I am missing something. I just unpacked my new LTD-1 the preamp sounds great. I am assuming you press the button labeled EQ up front to insert the EQ. When I press the EQ button it mutes the sound completetly. Did I get a defective one?
Another question I have concerning the power supply. When you turn it on sometimes the light will kick on right away other times it takes 4 or 5 seconds before the light will come on.
I sure would appreciate any feedback? Thanks Robert

Sometimes the cards come a little loose inside the unit because of shipping. Apparently this is how Neve originally did it, in order to be able to have easily replaceable cards in the field. Great for that purpose, but I'm guessing in the 70's they didn't anticipate the not so delicate nature of how UPS handles packages in 2004. Don't be afraid to pop the top off and make sure everything is securely in place. If that doesn't do it, it's time for a call to your dealer or straight to Wade, because you could have a faulty PSU. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
